Tis the Season to be Snoozing.

After yet another huge year, the Kearney Group gang are making preparations to roll into the holiday mode. To ensure we all come back, refreshed and ready for the new year, we’ll be popping the phones on silent and snoozing our collective inboxes on December 23, 2026.

Never fear – most of us will be back and raring to go on January 4, 2027.

If you have a time-sensitive bookkeeping service (e.g. payroll), a skeleton staff will be available during the closure period. This means you can sit back, relax during your summer holidays, safe in the knowledge that your business will be ticking along just fine. Ahhhhh uninterrupted holidays. Just another reason to hire an outsourced bookkeeper for your business.

2027 is already shaping up to be a massive one – full of exciting new partnerships, new programs, ideas and people. We’re excited already!

But for now, we wish you all a very happy, healthy and safe end to the year.

Need it before the New Year?

We know things don’t stop just because the office does, so if you need a hand before we clock off, now’s the time to get in touch. A little prep before the break will save you stress later.

Things to tick off before the holidays:

  • Payroll – make sure staff are paid on time while you or your advice team are on leave
  • Tax instalments & compliance – check for any due dates over the break
  • Supplier & creditor payments – tee up automated payments and avoid overdue notices while you’re on the beach
  • Reporting & lodgements – get ahead of deadlines that can’t wait until January
  • Outstanding queries – reach out now so we can help before the phones go quiet

Feeling financial stress about the holiday season?

We know household finances are tight and business is tough right now. High interest rates, the cost of living and business still feeling the pinch from covid, makes for a mean trifecta. If the prospect of hosting and gift giving has you in a doom spiral, we’ve got a couple of ideas to help.

With 31% of Australians saying they’d rely on credit cards for their Christmas spending, and 17.4% of them actually going into debt over the festive period, trust us when we say: getting a holiday budget in place is truly the best gift you can give to your future self.
