Kearney Group is pleased to announce it has been named one of three Grand Finalist for the prestigious AFA Practice of the Year awards.

The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has announced the names of the grand finalists in both its Practice of the Year and Adviser of the Year award categories.

Sponsored by Zurich since its inception in 2003, the AFA Adviser of the Year Award is regarded as Australia’s most prestigious award for financial advice. This year also represents the second time that the best financial advice practice will be honoured through a separate award.

Grand finalists announced.

2015 AFA Practice of the Year:

• Kearney Group (VIC)
• Announcer Financial Planning (NSW)
• Robina Financial Solutions (Qld)

2015 AFA Adviser of the Year:

• PJ Byrne – Mr Insurance (Qld)
• David Reed – The Retirement Advice Centre (NSW)
• Catherine Robson – Affinity Private (Vic)

Fox and Kewin agree, nominees are “outstanding”.

AFA CEO Brad Fox said this year’s nominees are outstanding. Moreover, he says this a sign that advisers are doing excellent work for both their clients and also the broader community.

“The financial advice community can be deservedly proud of the quality of advice being given in Australia. The finalists are, each in their own way, outstanding performers that exemplify the creation of client value through quality financial advice, service and professionalism,” he says.

Philip Kewin, General Manager of Zurich, agrees. Like Fox, he also noticed the calibre of this year’s finalists.

“I think now more than ever advisers are looking for standard bearers, those visionaries who can inspire and lead their peers through uncertainty and who we are proud to showcase as representing the very best of the advice profession,” he says.

Winners announced next month.

The winner of both awards will be determined following a full-day showcase by finalists to a panel of expert judges. The Finalist Showcase will take place in Sydney next month.

Winners will then be announced at the 2015 AFA National Adviser Conference in Cairns on 27 October, 2015.
