We may be a little biassed but we think Melbourne rivals some of the world’s biggest cities when it comes to its cultural scene. From a thriving arts and music calendar, to an unbeatable array of food and coffee spots – Melbourne is the city that has it all. And 2024 is no exception.

So whether you’re from out of town in search of a new adventure or you’re a lively local wondering what you can see, do and explore this year – this guide is for you! We have pulled together some of the best events happening in Melbourne in 2024, showcasing all of the excitement our city has to offer.

Melbourne’s Creative Calendar 2024.

Live music.

Expect big gigs and big names at Melbourne’s most iconic venues like Rod Laver ArenaSidney Myer Music BowlMarvel Stadium and the infamous MCG. From blink-182 and Taylor Swift in February to Coldplay and The Kid LAROI in October, 2024 is a huge year for international artists performing in Melbourne.

Like a more intimate setting? Catch local Australian songwriters Holy Holy at the city’s Forum Theatre or enjoy the slow sounds of Missy Higgins and Ben Howard at St Kilda’s historic Palais Theatre. And one for our podcast fans – you can catch The Imperfects live at Palais Theatre in May (we won’t be missing out on this one!)
